I recently had the opportunity to have lunch with Joy Sterling and Forrest Tancer at Iron Horse Vineyards. Sometimes you just have to get out and "smell the roses" and, this was one of those glorious afternoons. Their warm and gracious hospitality reminded me, again, why I'm in the wine business after all. We were celebrating the release of the l998 Good Luck Cuvee -- a delightfully fresh sparkler with a blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. Fresh raspberry Pinot aromas and lively acidity from the Chardonnay dosage. We are featuring this great spring sparkler at the tasting bar this month! We are also featuring some of their other outstanding wines: The fabulously aromatic and rich '00 Viognier, the deeply complex and lush '99 Pinot Noir (Green Valley), the SENSATIONAL '99 Cabernet Franc (it's so loaded with depth it will STUN YOU!), and, the '99 Chardonnay (Green Valley) which exihibits explosive aromas and flavors of spicy pears. The winery is simply making great wines!
